Question for Pokemon Platinum

Just bought a used Pokemon platinum ds game. Is there a way to erase the previous owners file and history to start the game fresh?

At the title screen (not menu) press Up+Select+B.

Here are the steps:

1. Turn your DS on.
2. Touch the touch screen.
3. Click "Pokemon Platinum Version".
4. Wait for the Giratina image to appear on the top screen and then press B+Up+SELECT.
5. The next screen will say "Would you like to erase your data"?
Click "YES" to continue, or "NO" to stop the process.
6. It will say "If you delete your data, there is no way to recover it.". At this point, press A.
7. It will now say "Do you still want to delete all your data?". This is your last desicion. Click "YES" to delete, or "NO" to go back.
8. Your data is deleting.
9. At the end, click START and then "New Game", and you will start a new journey.

What if you cant get to the title screen?

When you turn on the game go down to NEW GAME then use the directions it tells you press B after you finsh reading then press b again it will you to the part with girintina then do what you read there with buttons it told you to press
