You have to go through Team Galactic's HQ in Veilstone and go through Mt. Coronet (Where you go through reverse world) before you can go to Sunnyshore. Hope this helps.

ive done both and the fat guy is still there. beat the HQ and defeated cyrus at distortion world . i have giratina and i already talked to the professor aftterwards. Fat guy is still there what could be missing/
