Question for Pokemon Platinum

To which Pokemon do I give Protector? I think it is just like other items that make a Pokemon evolve when trade with the item being hold right?

It evolves Rhydon into Rhyperior when held and traded.

The Protector is a a hold item to be given to Rhydon. Once traded whilst holdign the item, it evolves into Rhyperior.

Give the Protector to Rhydon and trade it to evolve to Rhyperior. You can catch Rhydon in Stark Mountain, Route 228, Route 227, and Victory Road. Rhyhorn is found in Route 214 and can evolve by training.

No, you cannot find Rhydon in Route 227 or Route 228, but you can find Rhydon in Stark Mountain and Victory Road, and Rhyhorn in Route 214, so you are correct about that. You can evolve Rhyhorn by just leveling it up, but I do not know which level it evolves at. Everyone said right, you evolve Rhydon with this item by giving it to Rhydon and trading it. Again, like everyone else said, the result is Rhyperior.
