Where can you get an elekid or magby? I know you meet them in a battle but is there a way to get them in platinum without trading or migrating?

You may breed Magmar/Magmortar to get Magby.

Breeding is the only other way to get Magby or Elekid. Choices of breeding are:

To get Elekid you may breed:

To get Magby you may breed:

To breed you go to the Day-Care Centre and put in two Pokemon: Ditto and the Pokemon you want to breed. You catch Ditto by going to the Pokemon Mansion and talking to Mr. Backlot and he may say there are Ditto in his Trophy Garden. He says a different Pokemon every day. Anyway, then you wait a little. After a while the Veteran in front of the Day-Care should have an egg. Talk to him to retrieve it.

You can't catch Electivire or Magmortar in Platinum but you can evolve Electabuzz into Electivire or Magmar into Magmortar. You catch Electabuzz at Route 222. Magmar is at Fuego Ironworks.

Hope this helps!
