Pokemon Platinum and Action Replay. Safe to save?.

Please excuse the noob question but I just got a Nintendo DSLite and I'm looking into purchasing the Datel action replay DS device for use with Pokemon Platinum for after a normal playthrough. My question is with the device, after installing it to your PC, updating it ,adding your own codes etc. I was wondering how saving your game works?. I.E if I stick in my ARDS then Pokemon with say the 999x rare candy code. After hitting L+R, or select? Then getting the rare candy's and having everything I need. Do I/can I just save the game like normal with the cheat active and restart the game without cheats and the Action replay?.

I ask because I remember using my old Gameboy Color with Gameshark. I would use one code at a time get what I need save then come back to the game without using the cheat device to avoid glitches/freezing from codes.

Yes and no the cheat it self wont stay but the rare candys will
But whith some codes don't save

Yes it's safe,you could stick to official codes firts and then try some from this site .................and remenber when up loading codes play the game a bit and then save when you think it's safe
