I don't understand what everybody means when they say you can only catch some Pokemon in events
what is an event?

When you can only catch Pokemon in events that means that you have to wait until nintendo hosts a live event to get certain Pokemon you have to go to that event to get the certain Pokemon they are giving away I think the diamond and pearl events are now held over wifi I'm not sure though

An event is a sort of fair where they make a Pokemon promotion. The promotion is getting a darkrai ect. Some are bigger than others. I hope this helped.

What they mean is that you have to do a specific thing before getting the Pokemon for that event.

An event is when Nintendo goes somewhere in the States and hands out little downloads with items or Pokemon in it. You insert it and 1,2,3,...Poof! You have yourself something new! Hope this helps!
