Question for Pokemon Pearl

Right I haven't got past the battle tower can anyone tell me how

Do I need to win a certain amount of battles?
Do I need to talk to someone

Please help me I been stuck for two days :(

I think what you need to do is get the National Dex. If you talk to a Fisherman near the Northwest corner of the Area(near the ship) he will give you the Super Rod. If you win enough battles(20 straight and 48 straight), you get to fight the Tower Tycoon who turns out to be your Rival's father. The first time he will have a Dragonite, Milotic, and Rhyperior. The second time he will have Heatran, Regigigas, and Cresselia

The Battle Tower is WAY TOO HAXXY, I swear on my life. [Seriously, Quick Claw Crawdaunts with Guillotine ALWAYS go first, and it ALWAYS hits ALL 3 of your guys. Totally unfair.]

Anyway, for your questions:

1. 100 Battles Straight if you want to have a Black Trainer Card, or 5 Stars.
2. Any of the receptionists if you want to battle.
