Here are the things you will need rocksmash a bike and sthing.this is the most important pokeball But, thats in times come.get to the sur. Area and use your map

You don't have to complete a certain amount of battles, you have to go back to sandgem town and walk to professor rowans lab and there you will meet professor oak and you will obtain the national pokedex, which will allow you to further proceed past the fight area.
