Ghost type Pokemon are weak against Dark Type. Have a Pokemon use a Dark Type attack (I had Luxio/Luxray use Crunch) and was able to beat the fifth gym leader.
You should get a psychic type Pokemon on another ghost type ghost type pkemon are weak aginst psyshic and ghost or you could try freezing them or putting them to sleep.
