I am trying to get the National Dex. I went to Amity Square, and there is a boy with a Drifloon there. I went up and spoke to the Drifloon. However, my Pokedex still shows that I have not seen Drifloon. It is the only Pokemon I have yet to see and I was wondering why talking to the one in Amity Square didn't count. (If no one knows why, it's ok. I'll just go to Valley Windworks on Friday and catch the wild Drifloon.)

I believe it doesn't count because you didn't see it in battle and/or a main character didn't tell you about it.
Hope this helps!
The only way to get a "seen" entry for a Pokemon is to fight one or be shown it's sprite (like Dialga from Cynthia's grandmother). To find a Driftloon, visit the Valley Windworks on a Friday. It will be waiting just outside the building.
When it says "Seen Drifloon", it means seen it in the wild, or from a trainer battle. Go to valley Windworks on Friday, and catch one to complete sinnoh pokedex.
