I'm Training a Shedinja while holding the Focus Sash. I fought with it in a link battle and the item didn't go away, but when I fought a wild Pokemon, after the Focus Sash took effect, I lost it. Is that normal for the Focus Sash? And does this hold true for berries, too?

Focus sash and berries go away after use in battle, with the exception on Link battles, any held items used during a link battle will not go away. Hope I helped.
Items in link battles do not go away, that includes berries. By the way, having a Shedninja hold a Focus Sash is a very good Idea. I never though of that.
