shiny breeding?

I have 2 questions: (1) Is it possible to breed shiny Pokemon to make another shiny pokemon? (2)Does anyone know why you can't cut grass in Diomond/Pearl?

I'll be glad to help.
1) It's possible, but that's not how it works. Shinies are completely random and you can't just get more by breeding. That would make it too easy. So yes, there is a possibility, as there is for 2 normal Pokemon to have a shiny offspring, but it is highly unlikely.
2) Well, I don't really know about this one, as I've never tried, but my guess is that the guys at Nintendo thought it wasn't that important, so they didn't include it in the game.

SHINY DRATINI
cheating-is-good answered:

1: That is a good idea, and you could try it, but I doubt that it would work honestly. There is only a very slim chance of you finding a shiny Pokemon, so the chances of you breeding a shiny Pokemon are probably almost non-existent. But it might be possible, so good luck if you decide to try it.

2: I think that they just decided to get rid of one of the most pointless features in the game. It didn't do anything, and was pointless, so they decided to toss it out the window.

Yeah I think if u use a Pokémon from a player who is using a different language or country your shiny rate increases on breeding
hypofreak answered:

1) you can't breed a shiny into a shiny. But maybe if it is a shiny wiyh another shiny. 2) cutting grass is SO boring. Who needs it? I say the nintendo peeps went: who needs to cut grass? I mean you don't do it to get a Pokemon or something, right? So they would probably just, well, you know, keep on blabbing their mouths becaus one peep says "put it in!" and another peep says "it is like, so BORING! Who wants to cut grass? Just to not get an attack from a wild pokemon? What if it was a shiny who was going to attack next?!" so there's my point because in my ruby version, I found a shiny clampearl underwater and evolved it into a shiny huntail who is so much better. So I trained it to level 100 and um, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah. So that's my point. Hope you liked my looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong message. So see ya, peep.:-)

1) You can breed a Shiny ! If you use non-Shiny Pokemon the odds are the same(1/8192),BUT if you use one Pokemon from a different country(like Japan )to breed your odds increase. 2) No one needs to cut grass.

Guest answered:

I've heard that breeding pokemon of different nationalities cuts the odds by like 75%, I'm trying to breed a shiny dratini right now and its not going well (dratini takes forever to hatch!) If anyone knows a better way than this let me know. I tried chaining but that takes forever too and I have not been successful yet.

If you want to hatch a shiny dratini, then I recommend getting a male pokemon of different nationality who is compatible to breed with your dragonair, dragonite, whichever. Once they make eggs, get a pokemon whose ability is "Flame Body" and, if you have one egg in your party, it will cut hatching time in half. The more eggs you have, the closer it gets to about two thirds hatching time. You have to have a lot of patience- even with an increase of 75%, there is still only a 1 in 2010 chance of hatching a shiny. Still better than 1 in 8429 or something ridiculous. Smile Hope it helps.

put a pokemon in your party with the ability magma body or magma armor it helpes it go faster. magmar, slugma ect...
Guest answered:

1) yes, you can. If a shiny pokemon is bred with another pokemon, then the offspring has a 1/64 chance of being shiny, but only if the egg ends up being the opposite gender. Otherwise, it has the usual 1/8194 chance.

For example: you have a shiny, FEMALE pikachu, and a normal male pikachu, and the two breed. The Pichu, when it is created as an egg, is already a boy or girl. If it is a boy (opposite of it's shiny mother), it has a 1/64 chance of hatching shiny. If it is female (same gender A's the shiny mother), or if both parents are normal-colored, it has the usual 1/8194 chance of hatching shiny.

2) I have no idea why. Because it's time-consuming?

Guest answered:

No...you can't because in order to catch a shiny...you nead to CATCH it, ot trade it, it's highly unlikely you will bread shinies and get a shiny, as for cutting grass...are you nuts? Somebody say they are nuts for that for me

Guest answered:

If you breed a shiny with a shiny or you breed a shiny with a shiny ditto then you have 1/64 chance of hatching a shiny chuck norris.

Guest answered:

Um... I was wondering if you someone could tell me how you know whether a Pokemon is from another region because I just got a Shiny Gyrados from a WFC trade and now I do not know if it is from another region.
