Every time I try to do this my list of codes pops out.I want to know where I have to press to do this .Please and thank you

I'm guessing that you have an Action Replay? Well go into the Pokemon pearl section, and look at the list of codes that you have for the game. At the top it should say enter new code in bold letters.
