Help Needed with Starting a New Game

My son, who is 10, had played "Pearl" for some time and decided to start a new game. However, he didn't read the instructions and did not delete the old data from the first game he played. Now, he's about 3-4 days into heavy playing of the new game and he is not being allowed to "save." The instruction book says he must delete all the old data. Two questions: (1) Does that mean the data from both the first game and the new game? (2) If so, is there any way he can get around this problem and be allowed to "save." Or is there any way he can do something on a temporary basis to at least trade the Pokemon he has to me or another player so that he doesn't lose the entire new game?

The problem with your solution david is that you need to save to trade which it wont let Jim's son do.

Darkside Blackheart answered:

I'm really sorry but there isn't any way to transfer the Pokemon to your game so you will have to erase the new game and start again. I know this is very annoying as this happened to me and I got really annoyed when my brother was transfering the starter Pokemon to my game.

Well for every other Pokemon game I ever played you didnt need to delete your old stuff before starting new, when you click on the save button you would always just say yes to overwrite the stuff. If this doesnt work, which is probably doesnt. Then you would have to delete all the previous information before beginning a new game which would, unfortunately delete the 3-4 days worth of playing that went unsaved.
It seems like a silly thing to program into the game but Im glad you pointed it out for anyone else who wants to start a new game.
He could trade all his Pokemon to you or someone else trustworthy but he would still have to play through the beginning of the game and trade them back, which makes most of the game very hard. Trading is super duper easy if you have two nintendo DS's and two Pokemon games. All you have to do is talk to the second lady upstairs in the pokecenter and go in the union room and talk it's pretty straight forward

Tthis is easy I've don't it so many times before.

Ok when it coem to the area where it said continue don't click nothing, then clickall at once down select b.if that doesnt work give a message and i'll fix it.

firebloods answered:

Ok all these answers don't make sence you can start a new game easily.
All you hafe to do is start up your game when it says contine don't click contine, instead hold down select and b all at once. Then it'll give you a option yes or no click yes and you haev a new game.
