Why can't my recruted rayquaza join my team?

Question for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

Why can't my recruted rayquaza join my team? His name is in red and this applys with my garados too so when I press A the words ''join team'' are in red and if I press A then nothing happens! Why can't my rayquaza come on explorations with me? Is he mad he joined? Does he not like his nickname? Whats wrong with them? Are my other groupies bothering them? Please help!

If you mean that you already have the ability to bring him on missions (because he had already joined you), it's because you can have only a certain size team, which I think is 6. For example, lets say Dialgia is size 4. Then only 2 size 1 pokemon can join (or 1 size 2), even though the head count can, at maximum, be 4 teammates. Which is what I think is what you're asking about.

You might be exceeding the size limitation, remember you have a limit of up to four Pokemon AND up to 6 size units. Rayquaza is four size units on it's own. So if you already have a team of three small Pokemon, you cannot add a size 4 member to the team. You'll have to drop one of the smaller ones.

I had to make more space for my castform so just try to get rid of two people in your party and if that don't work then try just you in the party ok.

When one of the Pokemon from the recruits list name is red it means that you do not have enough room to take the pokemon. If there are other members going along aside from your main Pokemon you should take them off. The same thing happens with my Wailord, he is so big that he takes up the room that two Pokemon would. That is the same case with your Rayquaza.
