Well the best starter is Riolu.
With it you can beat easily Dialga and most legendaries. If you manage to evolve it Lucario would be one of your strongest pokemon
i think mudkip is the best option because hi can learn endeavor and thats a easy way to beat dialga and the others that have lots of hp.
Vulpix. it is a fire type and can whip dialga. but might need ur parter's help in water places...
i would say eevee as your starter and riolu as your partner
well i had a good time with squertel and vulpix but it took me a couple times to beat dialga and a long time to beat palkia but it still works. by guest.
well i did shinx and vulpix as my people, and i think shinx is definatley besty starter because of charge, which i linked with spark at a low level for incredible damage. vulpix is incredible too because of imprison, so you can choose between them.
evee the evolutions are amaizing and riolu as the partner
riolu and munchlax (riolu main munchlax partner)
coz they both learn lots of moves
EEVEE and VULPIX are definitly the best pair eevee as u and vulpix ur partner got it??? GOOD! (lol)
Looking up a lot of Pokemon, eevee and mudkip had the best stats. However, I did not get data on the following: Treeko, pikachu, charmander, squirtle, and bulbasaur due to ripped out pages in my game guide... My best choice of starter is an eevee. For a partner, either pikachu or another Pokemon with a move like discharge.
Riolu (hero) Shinx (partner) mostly because shinx learns dicharge and riolu WHOOPS! Dialga fairly easily
Riolu And Shinx because it will NOT have any weaknesses
I think riolu and pikachu(pikachu has a better moveste than shinx) or riolu with vulpix or the other way around
Mudkip (Hero) cos he is awesome and his last stage is part ground so he is imune to electric!! Riolu (partner) cos he has great atk stats and a good moveset. He can also ko dialga easily! Or maybe a chikorita cos there last stage is awesome
I say Vulpix (Hero) and Riolu (partner) I beat the game ten times with these two. Vulpixs Impresion rocks and Riolus force palm helped me a lot with rock and water type Pokemon.
I think you should try eevee and pikachu or maybe the other way round. Pikachu learns discharge at 37 which would b good 4 monster houses & eevee can shadow ball and protect.
To be honest I would use a Riolu (hero) and Vulpix (partner) purely because vulpix starts of with some epic move and learnes overheat at a later level which kicks monster houses in to the next milenia. Ninetales is also a very powerful Pokemon so it is definetly worth chooseing vulpix as your partner, my only concern however is that it needs a firestone to evolve and they are very hard to find but it's definatly worth the wait. Riolu has alot of speed and attack and nukes dialga with a stun seed and a few force palms or reversals if you have low HP. It can also cover my vulpix against annoying rock types. Its evolution Lucario is a super powerful Pokemon and loses alot of those fighting type weaknesses that are all so pesky. My main concern is thet you have yo get it's IQ up to stage two and give it a sun ribbon which are impossibe to find. In genral despite the hard evolution methods these Pokemon work really well in a team.
HOPE THAT HELPED ^^
Well, since I am practically in love with the eeveelutions, I chose Eevee. NEVER USE EEVEE AS A PARTNER! Once she gets low health, she will run away from battle, unless she is the hero.
So,
Eevee as the Hero/Heroine.
Riolu as Partner.
Bulbasaur and squirtle thats why people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I picked Shinx as my starter and Riolu as my partner. Riolu was always my favorite Pokemon because of his high stats. Shinx learns a great move for Monster Houses - Discharge. Riolu learned Focus Punch - almost a KO for Dialga.
I have as my main charmander(because he can also learn flying moves) and Pikachu (Discharge to damage the whole room. I have just hatched Manaphy and am lvl 50 with them it's really easy.
I used chikorita as my hero and charmander as my partner and it worked great against dialga, darkrai, and palkia. But everyone wants riolu.
I used chikorita and charmander and they were geat against dialga, palkia, and darkrai but everyone says pick riolu and mudkip.
I think that shinx is the best because he learns loads of moves including Discharge which is awesome. And I think munchlax as a partner because snorlax has loads of hp and can learn amazing moves like Fire blast and thunderbolt.
I would pick skitty as the hero and riolu as the partner because skitty has some pretty good moves and later on she learns stronger moves and riolu as the partner because of his strgenth oh and did I mention that skitty when she levels up her statutes r 3 at first and 2 the rest and so is riolu's and since delcatty is the ext form of skitty it learns amazing moves and can use almost every tm and as for riolu he learns move by leveling up and he can learn drain punch which is very useful and since I had experience with the two that is clearly the best choice so I hope I helped
I would Say Skitty and Mudkip. Water and Normal type moves are a great combination! Here's what I imagine:
Leader Skitty, Zen Headbutting Dialga to the knee whilst Mudkip Lowers his acuraccy with mud-slap!
Don't forget Cute charm and Torrent!
I'd say shinx and phanpy
They cover each other very well(not a lot of grass types in game/ storyline) and both can learn monster house moves, discharge and earthquake.
I have explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky and Blue rescue team. For Darkness I have a female Pikachu and a female Chikorita as my partner, which took out Dialga easily. For Blue rescue team I have Chikorita as my hero and Mudkip as my partner they were pretty good too. For Sky I'm a Venasaur and my partner is Pikachu and I had a hard time with Dialga and Palkia and Darkrai(havent got to palkia or darlrai in darkness yet. So I think Chikorita and Pikachu are the best choice.
I'd say You as pikachu (cause it levels up fast) and your partner..... Vulpix (mabye)
The best pair is Cyndaquil(Hero) and Riolu(Partner) Dialga doesn't stand a chance and every boss before the big fight with darkrai + Cyndaquil when evolved to typhlosion can be equipped with the blast bangle and trolls kyogre's dungeon
Enough choice, I would say every starter is good, but some are a bit more of a challenge, lik phanpy.
Be riolu but never have vulpix or eevee as partner because vulpixs flas fire ability if it uses a move on porgyn it copys it abilty and don't have eevee because of it's abily run away if it's low on hp have mudkip or shinx as partner to
Riolu main cause it's going to be a lucario and mudkip will be a swampert which is awesome
I suggest phanpy and chimchar they learn great move for dialge and palkia.
In my opinion tododile is a good starter, knowing water, ice, dark and fighting moves, learning all moves without having to evolve.vulpix in my perpsective is the best partner, having fire, physic,
And dark moves. -the potion master
I'm usin charmander and riolu and I've played this game and beaten it multiple times and I say it doesn't matter just go on google and look up golden seed codes so you can lvl up fast ( 5 lvls per seed!)
Riolu: I whooped Dialga in literally two turns with Focus Blast and a Special Band equipped.
Im a Riolu and partner is Charmander
Riolu has good moves like Force Palm,Brick Break,Shadow Punch,Bite
Charmander has Flamethrower,Dig,Focus Punch and Dragon Rage.
Defeated Primal Dialga in 5 moves only. No reviver seeds or oran berries.
Honestly, personal preference takes a large role in the choosing. You may absolutely adore Eevee, and focus on that she has seven choices for evolution. Mind you, as you may pick her as your partner, she has a horrible ability that will most likely leave you steaming. Run Away causes her to flee when she gets into low health. Yes, everyone, that is right; while you're fighting that monster house, and your partner gets hit hard and only has about five health left, she's going to try running around the room, and will surely get hit again. Vulpix is a relatively good choice, due to the fact she learns Faint Attack, and later on, Extrasensory. A dark-type move and a psychic-type move. Place those with Imprison and Flamethrower, you have a mighty fine Pokémon on your hands. Once again, though, exceptions. Raltz, Kirlia, and Gardevoir as well as Porygon, Porygon2 and Porygon-Z may have that irritating ability, Trace. Yes, you certainly do have two non fire-type moves to use on them, but imagine if they trace your ability before you use flamethrower. Whoops.
I've just researched on this, and I think Piplup and Cyndaquil is the best matchup. First of all, Piplup can use Bubble/Bubblebeam, which is useful for attacking faraway. Its stats are also not really focused on something and is well-rounded, which means you are less likely to get KOed as easily. Cyndaquil, while leveling up, learns a lot of awesome, strong moves. At level 13, it learns Quick Attack, which is extremely useful when you almost defeat this monster and your partner attacks for you (Quick Attack can reach up to two spaces away).
Now, I've noticed that a lot of people have said that Riolu is a great choice as a starter/partner. Now, it is true that it is Fighting type and therefore has an advantage over Dialga, but Dialga is ONE Pokemon out of all the Pokemon you will be fighting. And Riolu, though you can teach it many moves with TM, does not learn very helpful moves on it's own. In fact, it's only offensive moves are Quick Attack, Feint, Force Palm, and a varying move, Reversal. What if you are faced with a strong Phychic type or Flying type? Well, you are pretty much screwed, considering that Quick Attack and Feint are low-power moves and Force Palm as well as Reversal are Fighting type----not very effective.
Now, I'm not saying that Riolu is bad. I actually really like Riolu, especially it's evolution, Lucario. Lucario has an awesome moveset and appearance, and if it were the regular games (Pokemon SoulSilver, Pokemon Black), I would totally put Lucario in my team. However, you cannot evolve your starter/partner until after you defeat Darkrai, which is the last part of the plotline, waaaaay after Dialga. Fighting may be good on Steel, but so is Fire (Cyndaquil).
In the first place, Dialga is not that hard to beat. True, it's Roar of Time is *BLEEP*-ing annoying, but you can easily put that to a stop with a Sleep Seed. I defeated it by spamming my Skitty combo (Sing --> Wake-up Slap).
Hope this helped.

I beat the game once with Piplup as hero and I think it was either Vulpix or Shinx
Personally, when I was Eevee and partner was Vulpix, I struggled quite a bit.
My best though, has to be Vulpix and Shinx. They cover each other very well, the only downfall being that they're both weak to Ground so it took me a while to defeat Dugtrio when battling the Guild members but I eventually did! (Plus Vulpix x Shinx is my Pokémon OTP XD)
Also, using the Dojo to raise your levels higher helps a lot too. I always use the Dojo for training to raise my levels a lot higher.
It would probably be best just to choose your favourite or answer the quiz truthfuly but the hero I think is best is torchic, teach it flamethrower (huge damage) and mirror move for wrecking bosses. (I did this with palkia and beat him first time without dying).
