To recruit Pokemon you need to get far enough in the game and unlock the service chimecho opens up. Then sometimes in dungeons they might want to join you. To get rid of them either when your in dungeons go to 'team' in the pause menu and select the person to get rid of. Then select 'say farewell'. To get rid of them at the guild go to chimecho and select the Pokemon to get rid of. It's the same thing from there. NOTE 1: to have them on your team select the Pokemon to join. Then select 'join team'. This is done by the service cihmecho makes.
NOTE 2: to make them off your team do the same thing except select 'remove from team' or something like that. NOTE 3: some Pokemon you can't recruit.
NOTE 4: you can't take them off your team in dungeons. You can only get rid of them.
hope I helped
