Question for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team

I am having trouble feeding my starter Pokemon gummies. I go to their friend areas but can't find anyway of giving the gummies to them; the menu I pull up lists Friend, Items, Info and Exit. I can go to the Items menu and select a gummi but the only options are trash and info. I try to talk to my partner like I would to my other friends when giving them gummies but pressing Y to turn around and face him doesn't work like it does in the dungeons, could someone please help me?

You can feed him/her gummie when your inside a dungeon.

I had the same problem, hon, no big deal. If you haven't passed the main story mode part and cannot switch your leader/partners, it's unbelievably hard to give them gummi's for some stupid reason, it drove me nuts!
After main story mode you can dump any of them off in their friend areas including your leader and use another Pokemon as leader to feed them. For now, the only thing you can do is this: Face your partner in a dungeon and THROW it at him-he may miss it occasionally, but usually they'll eat them, and that was the only way I could get it done! You don't get the bonus stats, but you can later on. As far as you leader is concerned, you just need to eat those gummi's when you are in a dungeon-bring them in with you if need be, or just eat what you find. Seems mean, but you gotta throw them at your partner-just like you gotta throw Oran Berries or whatever at your escorts when they get hit to heal them up. Don't worry, after you battle Rayquazza, all this will change and you'll evwen be able to evolve your Pokemon!
