On the menu, go to Team, Chikorita, Check IQ, go to Course Checker and switch it on by going to Switch. A star should apear next to it. If you don't have Course checker yet, feed it a lot of Grass Gummis. It'll learn it on it's own.

When you are facing your enemy, press left or right so that you and you partner are standing right next to each other instead of one behind the other. That way, both the leader of your team and it's partner can hit the enemy without the leader taking damage from Chik's razor leaf. I hope I helped!

BBG_CREECAT answered:

Most likely, you have the skill "Course Checker" turned off. That's a beginning skill, so it should have it at any IQ, but if turned on it won't use moves or items when walls or friends are in the way-if turned OFF it would use a move even if you're right in the line of fire. Sometimes if you turn on one skill, it will automatically turn off another, too, so could that be your problem and it happened without you noticing. Check Chikorita's IQ Skills and see what's up with that stuff, because I can't think of any other reason it would attack you unless it was confused of under the effect of a seed that changes vision or something. I hope this helps you because that's got to be very annoying and shouldn't be happening! Let us know if not, hopefully someone can figure it out if this doesn't do the trick, OK. Good luck!!
