The blue rescue team is for nintendo ds. The red rescue team is for gba. You can link ds to ds and gba to gba, but can you do ds to gba and vice versa?

You can have Pokemon Blue and load in a Red cartridge into the same DS system and upload your character information to battle someone else or trade items. Other than that, I think that is all you can do cross platform.
