I've only got 6 gym badges on the first set of badges and the dum man won't let me onto route 44 what do I do

Beat the Team Rocket in the Radio Tower in Golden Rod City.Did you do that?If not go to Radio Tower and it's "Beat the Team Rocket"!Hope it helps you!

You must obtain 7 badges and beat Team Rocket in the Johto Radio Tower. The man is to prevent you from skipping part of the story line.
The proper way to spell "dum" is D-you-M-B.
