Question for Pokemon Heart Gold
When I was fighting Red on heart gold, I had my Typhlosion (Lvl 80 at the time) first in my party. I used flamethrower once and it defeated his pikachu (Lvl 88) in one hit. No critical hit. Can someone explain why this happened? Not that I'm complaining, but if it was a glitch maybe, I want to know how it works.

Your Typhlosion's Special attack (Flamethrower) mus have been higher than his Pikachu's Special defense (resistance to special attacks like Flamethrower)

Wow. I probably should have looked at my Typhlosion's super high sp. atk. It is very high.

I would just like to remind you that Pikachus are very weak compared to Typhlosions. So your STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Flamethrower (giving a Base power of 142) would of easily knocked out the little mouse with it's small Sp.Def.
