You have to beat the elite four then go to victory road and the path to the right will be open or go to olivine city and use SS aqua to go to Kanto and to get to pewter just go to lavender town and go inside the radio tower then you'll find some old dude and talk to him and he'll give you some chip then go to the snorlax at vermilion area thats blocking the digglets cave and open up your pokegear and go to the radio part and put the cursor to the top of the circle and the exit out of it and the snorlax will attack BEWARE lv50 and then you can run from it and it'll be gone or catch it it has leftovers most of the time then go through diggs cave and you'll come out at pewter city and just go through viridian forest and thats how you get there

The fist answer was correct. Once he updates your poke gear go to snorlax and open your gear. Go to the radio. Use your DS stick to move the dot that's giving off waves to the north part of the screen given to you. Pokeflut starts to play then exit and talk to snorlax.
