What is the best level to evolve him in heartgold?

ANSWERS

Due to him losing the ability to learn most of the moves that he is able to learn as a Growlithe after evolving him with a Fire Stone I'd advise Level 48 (If you want Flare Blitz) or Level 45. (Heat Wave)

I would evolve him at lvl. 39 if I wanted my Arcanine to know Extremespeed, but after lvl. 48 if I wanted him to know Flare Blitz or Heat Wave.

My friend, I have an Arcanine in Diamond, I believe and honestly, it's not worth evolving your Growlithe, unless you desperately need the Pokedex credit. Once you evolve your Growlithe into an Arcanine, you lose the ability to learn new moves. Also, if want to re-learn moves to your Arcanine by way of the Move Tutor (a.k.a. The Heart Scale Guy), you won't be able to learn ANY moves that would normally be learned by Growlithe, such as Fire Blitz. In fact, I think the only moves you'll be able to re-learn are Tackle and Growl. However, you can still teach it TM moves like Hyper Beam.

Lv 48 is the best time to evole your growlithe. Your arcanine will have the moves flare blitz and heat wave that it can't learn. Then go to the move tutor to learn extreme speed

my growlithe is level 78 and it has learned hypabeam which is a sick move!! dont evolve it peeps!

well if you still want a grolith why dont you catch one so you have a growlith and arcanine

u definately need to evolve it, because the arcanine's stats are insanely good, especially for the moves that growithe learns.

I find the best method is evolving at 48 . Because not only do you get increased stats , which Arcanine has 555 base stat points. Which makes him a top tier pokemon. Compared to Growlithes 350 base stat points.

Things to be aware of: If you are going to evolve earlier him wait till about 39 ***if you only want extremespeed learned at 39) NOTE: You will lose Heat Wave and Flare Blitz.(Because Growlithe learns Heat Wave at 45 and Flare Blitz at 48)
Otherwise wait till 48.

Also:
On the console game. You can re-learn extremespeed anyways. So it's not really a big loss.

So overall summary: Wait till 48.

I would say evole him at level 49 if you want Arcanine to learn Extreem Speed(I'm sure I spelled that wrong). BUT there's a catch. Arcanine does NOT learn Flamethrower. So, you must decide which move you want more.I'd say wait till level 55, 'cause that's what I'm doing.

People say to level him up than evolve him so he learns heat wave and flareblitz, well, I breed flare blitz into my arcanine via an infernape, so I myself evolved him into an arcanine at around level 30 so he can still learn extremespeed at level 39. So I have a perfect iv and ev trained arcanine that is level 100 that knows extremespeed flare blitz hyperbeam and swagger< great combo if you ask me

Level him up to Level 30 then evolve him.
The results could come out with a great move combine such as ExtremeSpeed, Swagger, Flare Blitz, and Swagger.

I say evolve him at level forty eight so he will have all his good moves such as flare blitz and heat wave so yea 48.

Listen, I would "quote" wait untill lv. 100, that when you evolve it ,Arcanine will be... Invincible (nearly)!

I think lvl 50 is good.and hears the best movepool for arcanine

4th gen-flare blitz,thunder fang,heat wave,extreme speed

5th gen-flare blitz,outrage,heat wave,close combat
