Thanks, all! Cheers! When the grass rustles, sometimes it just wobbles a little, and sometimes it shakes and shines yellow. I was under the impression that was tha grass "sparkling" so I assumed I would have a better chance of catching a shiny in those spots. But that happens a fair bit.
My next question is why does the grass sometimes shake more and have a yellow tint? I can only assume that it means there is a bigger Pokemon there? I'll check serebii, but I would appreciate other's Insight...
Oh, Yep, David_Banner I did know about Acetylsalycilic acid, My boyfriend is a Chemist, so I've picked up a bit from him. I was going to say "I'll have a Bex and a lie-down" But I think Bex Powder (a common painkiller) is Australia specific, so no one would've understood me! (except any Australians born before 1985, If they were observant!)

1) yes if the grass is shiny and sparkling then it is most likely that there is a shiny Pokemon there.
2) no it doesnt mean that there is a bigger pokemon. It just means there is a Pokemon there just like the other results; but a yellow tint sometimes does mean shiny pokemon.
:D
That indicates a rarer type of Pokemon from the national dex in that spot! Although not always true, it works most of the time! Yay, my period key works again.
1. A hint to run into a shiny pokemon: chain it many times; this is done by running into a Pokemon, catching/defeating it (don't run away), and then go to the farthest patch away from you. Once you do that for a while (basically back and forth between patches), you'll be chaining pokemon. Once you've done that for a while, you should eventually run into the shiny version of that pokemon.
2. The grass with a light yellow tint could mean that the Pokemon in that patch is rarer; but I can't be too sure about that...
