You need to do this with a friend, but I assume you already knew this. What you also probably already knew was that both you and your friend need a Nintendo DS, Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, and Mystery Gift on both your files. Now, stand within 30 feet of eachother, and both of you just select Mystery Gift on the Title Screen. Both of you should get a random item.

Already asked and it's on the main menu underneath Migrate (If you have another Pokemon game in) or New Game (witout a Pokemon game in). Choose to get a gift from WFC, DS Wireless, or Friends. Hope I Helped!

You need to go to a Pokemon event in real life. Activating "mystery gift in your game allows the people to upload the mystery gift (like the azure flute, Eon Ticket, or a Mew at lvl70 for example) onto your gameboy or ds cart.
