Question for Pokemon Diamond

How and when do you get to put your finger print on the statue in the old mans mansion. There as a question about what happens after but how do you get your finger print on it?? Then what do you do after?

You can touch it betwen 2 and 3 pm when the guard takes a break.
But nothing happens after words.However told you that told you a lie.
