How the heck do you find a tangela?

Basically you have to get lucky. Everyday turn on your game and go talk to dawn's sister in sandgem town. She will say something like 'oh what did the news say again, oh yeah (insert route name here) theres loads of (insert Pokemon name here) there, (insert your name here) hurry I want you to be better then my sister dawn.' If you happen to get lucky enough that she tells you mount coronet and tangela youre in business. Keep in mind you must have the national dex for this to work. If you don't have the national dex, keep working. Trust me you must be lucky Ive been waiting for her to say route 217 and swinub for about 2 months now Im starting to get ticked off.

No. Sometimes when you talk to Dawns sister in her house she will tell you about swarms. ex: talk to her and she says: "theres a swarm of pidgey on route 202" head there and go there to catch pidgey.

So when she says theres tangela in mt. Coronet. Go there to catch one.

She will tell you a Pokemon and the area that it is swarming. Her response is random so you'll have to try everyday. This only occurs after you get the National Dex & beat the E4

You go to the professors child's(Dawn or Lucas depending on what character you picked) house in sandgem town, and ask their little sister, she is standing close to the TV, she will tell you where Pokemon are swarming, you just have to wait until she says tangela.

A swarming Pokemon is one that appears in great numbers in certain places on random days to find out what the swarming Pokemon of the day is fly to Sandgem town and go to the big house right below the poke center. Go inside and talk to the little girl she will tell you which Pokemon is swarming and where. It changes once per day so go every day. I have had this game for a long time and have check every day and tangela has never been swarming I suggest you trade or migrate from leaf green of fire red.

Once you've obtained the National Dex, talk to your rival's sister. She'll name a different Pokemon every day, and what route that Pokemon can be found on. This is a "swarm". Once in a while, she'll say that she heard that Tangela is suddenly found in Mt. Coronet.
