What team should I have?

You should make up a team of your own. Select 6 Pokemon that you like and train them and that will be you team.

Ill tell you the types that you should have, but I'm not going to tell you the Pokemon because that is up to you and which Pokemon you like more. The types that you should have are a fire, grass, water, electric, physic or dark, and a dragon or normal.

It's your choice, but If I were you I'd get a Gible from wayward Cave.

The types you should have that would pulverize the game:
Grass, Fire, Water, Electric, Ghost, Rock.

The Pokemon themselves would be your decision, but here are some simple examples:
Roserade, Rapidash, Gyarados, Luxray, Drifblim, Onyx.
Gengar and Golem would be better than Drifblim and Onyx, I think, but like I said, it's your decision.

! Started with piplup because he is super effective against the foes starter pokemon. Try too get Pokemon that evolve into great Pokemon, trust me I'm a pro caught all legendaries got national dex and beaten the whole game.

An attack based poke- something with good attack stat that can really hammer foes with a strong move I rec. Lucario, garchamp, garydos, tyranitar

A defense based poke- this could also mean high HP poke use these to giv you time to heal /revive the wounded, exaust the foe with self healing moves or even giv you some time ta form a stratagy I rec. Blissey, snorlax, or any steel type, sableye, spiritomb, shedinja, wobbefet

Stat reduing, status inflictor, etc. Poke- use these to wear down/weaken the the foe while slowly inflicting damage also works great combiined with high HP/defense poke I rec. Gengar, gardevior, darkria

High spec. Atk- these are the basic alternitive tto reg attack mainly deals with water,fire, grass, and psycic move types I rec palkia, alakazam, deoxys

High spec def- the basic alternitive to defense this protects frm non physical attacks and sometimes acompaniedby high HP I rec kyogre, Lugia, regice

All around- this can b anything you want maybe a favorite or alternitive to everything else I rec you're starter poke, arceus

Well, you should choose whatever you want. In my opinion, you should have you're starter of choice and and the rest be the dominant types: fire, water, grass, electric, flying, and rock. Maybe one ice, or dragon.

You should have a well balanced team that can cover for other team members. For example, if you have a Torterra, Both if it's types are very weak against ice. You should have a steel or some other type that is strong against ice.
