Question for Pokemon Diamond
Where can you find hippopotas?
I checked my pokedex and I went to that route , but I can't find it. I checked Serebii.net and it tells me to find it at Ruin Maniac's cave, but I can't find it.

All I found as well. I'd just go to Route 228(post Nat Dex) and catch a Hippowdon and breed that

He's found in that cave, but he's really rare. However, if you obtain the National Dex and beat the E4, you can find his evolved form, Hippowdon, on Route 227. He's also pretty common, and around level 54.

You must first capture at least 10 Unown before Hippopotas becomes more common in the Ruin Maniac Cave. That is the only place you can catch one. It's evolved form is in the sandstorm route, but you can only catch him after you have the National Dex.

You have to catch all forms of unkown except ! And ? Then hell be done diggin in there, and you can find 'em in there

Once you collects all the unknowns it should be in Ruin Maniacs cave.

The Ruin Maniac's cave is on that route, but bear in mind that it's not hard to find, as soon as you enter the route from Veilstone downward, you will find a ramp to the rocks upper level, almost immediately you will find a hole in the wall, this is the Ruin Maniac's cave, just keep in mind that they appear very rarely, most of what you'll find is geodude, 90% of the time. I should know, I have two Hippopotas, and accidentally KO'd another one. This was on two seperate days mind you, the first time I looked for one, it took nearly an hour to find, of coarse that could have just been my luck.

I was very lucky I found my first hippopotas after only a few min. Although I had collected all the unowns.

Yeah but it's rare but you can get it at a more common rate when you caught 10+ unowns but I caught one withouth catching a single unown
