You will run into Dialga in the storyline of the game, (much like Groudon and Kyogre) Your paths will cross at the Spear Pillar when Cyrus tries to revive it for his own ambitions. He will lose control, and after you fight him, you will have a shot to catch him. Use Ultra balls and Dusk balls at night for best results. DO NOT USE YOUR MASTER BALL!!! Save it for running Pokemon like Mesprit and Cresselia.

Get in battle with him at NIGHT. Then, get his health down as low as possible, and inflict some damage to his status [in other words, make him asleep, paralyzed, etc.] Then, start throwing dusk balls. You should eventually catch him.

Well I caught him with making him have very low red hp and then I used a ultra ball. I caught him on first try.. If not first for you then buy alot of ultra balls. Be shure his hp is down to the red.
