Your Pokemon stats [who have it] will go up one by one, for every step you take.
This is how it works. You have 6 Pokemon in your team. They each have 5 stats [attack, defense, special attack, special defense, and speed].
Your head Pokemon of the party will have their attack increased by one for one step. If you take another step, the Pokemon next to it will have their attack increased by one. Then, the next Pokemon will have their attack increased by one for another step... It keeps going like that, and when the 6th Pokemon in your team had their attack increased by one, take another step, and the defense of the head Pokemon will increase by one. So take 30 steps, and your entire team would have had all their stats [minus HP] increased by one.
Take 60, and their stats increased by two, etc.
Pokerus is VERY good. However, it dies off eventually. I never experienced how long it lasts, though. But, if you keep a number of Pokemon who have Pokerus in the PC, I do know they will keep it forever, as long as they are in the PC.

It's called pokerus it means your Pokemon can get more exp. Points with it. It only happens when you battle a lot it is not a bad thing.

The virus or Pokerus is a good thing. It doubles all EV (Effort Value) gains of the infected Pokemon. In order to keep the virus, put the infected Pokemon in the box and use him only to infect your other Pokemon. When the virus leaves, a smily face will show in the profile of the Pokemon. I believe they do not lose the EV multiplier after the virus departs.

If your talking about Pokerus, it's a good thing. It raises it's earnings when it levels up. But like all viruses, it wears away. You could also spread it to other Pokemon as well.
