Yes beat the elite 4 and go to pal park you can catch them there

It's not trading, it's called transferring. But you get the point. Anyway, you can do that through Pal Park after beating the Elite Four and getting the National Pok�Dex. You insert the GBA game into the GBA slot of the DS and you'll be prompted to transfer.

Actually, you can, but I think you need Pal Park (which is obtainable after you get the National Dex). The thing is, you can only trade 3rd Generation Pokemon to Diamond / Pearl but you can't trade 4th Generation Pokemon to the old games. I hope that helped.
