Question for Pokemon Diamond

When I was in the wild I don't remember what I was doing there but my golem was against a fearow and I made a careless error by accidentally used earthquake instead of stone edge here's my question I thought flying types are immune to ground how did this knock the fearow out and was super effective

Did you use a Move that caused immunity to Ground-Type Moves to stop? If you did, this is the reason why Earthquake hit the Fearow.

If you didn't do this, there may have been a Glitch in the Game.

If Fearow used Roost first, it became a pure normal type for the remainder of the turn. There is no way for Earthquake to hit Fearow for Super Effective damage.
