In Pokemon Diamond, you can find six fossils. You can find the Root Fossil, Skull Fossil, Helix Fossil, Claw Fossil, Dome Fossil, and Old Amber after you have received the National Pokedex.

There are seven fossils you can get in Diamond. The only one you can get before the national dex without trading is the skull fossil. After getting the national dex you can find the dome fossil, helix fossil, old amber, claw fossil, and root fossil. You must trade for the armor fossil (it is a version exclusive).
