Inserting GBA games

Ok heres my problem and I need help please. I read on various web sites that by having a GBA Pokemon game slotted into your DS while you play Diamond/Pearl will allw you to catch different Pokemon as you travel. I have tried and tried this but for some reason it doesnt seem to work. Now to my question.... Do you have to have obtained the national dex inorder for these Pokemon to appear??? Any help will be great thankyou.

I don't think you need the National dex to find these. I found a Gligar without the National dex so I think they're just rare.

Well your question is partially true. You can play Diamond or Pearl with a Gameboy Advance Pokemon game but I think it's if you use FireRed, LeafGreen, or Emerald. Using one of them gets various Pokemon. Hope this helps you out.

Well yes you kinda do need national pokedex and yes for the game slote can find different Pokemon and with the pokerader

Yes, this works with all the main GBA Pokemon Games, by main I mean not Mystery Dungeon, and the like.

Anyway, yes, you do need the National Dex in order for these Pokemon to appear.
