the move fling question

When you use the move fling, does the item you are holding disappear afterwards?

I'm thinking of giving this attack to one of my Pokemon but don't want it if i'll need to equip my Pokemon with a dif. Item eveytime

I'm not sure if the item is lost but if it is you should consider using the following move combo= Fling then Recycle(TM67). It can be found in Eterna City inside the building on the right of the PokeMart on the second floor by speaking to the old woman. Hope this helps.

The item is lost every time the move is used. However, the items that will cause the most damage (the best being fossils or an Iron Ball) can be easily recovered in the Underground.

It is lost so if you teach it then the item is lost, so make sure it be gotten again or make sure that it sucks.

Yes the item does get lost. I used Fling when my Graveler was holding a Quick Claw and then I lost the Quick Claw. Be careful not to throw any important items.

Fling is purely a contest move, by that I mean use it in the fight arena. An Iron tail/Iron ball is the equivalent to a Blast Burn, where as the fossils are an egg bomb. I'm not sure about the rest enjoy the move its useful but only in the arena.
