How Do I Use the Action Reply Card?

On a different site, it gave me a code to enter. I entered the code as the following:
ADAE-636791C0
It actually asked for the last "C" to be lowercase. I didn't know how to do this, so I entered it the best I could.
Now my touch screen is red and grey stripes moving from the bottom to the top of the screen.
Can someone please walk me through on how to use the Action Replay Card?

Oh dear... This is unfortunately the downfall of using cheat devices... They can sometimes glitch and can often ruin your game if you use a dodgy code. (I don't mean it will ruin the cartridge, just your particular saved game)

If you need advice on how to use action replay, take a look at the many and abundant sites (google it) that describe this in full!
