I would have to say the best starter Pokemon is turtwig, cause it's final evolution is grass/ground, so fire isnt super effective against it. Hope this helps,

They are all the same, they all can deafeat each other. I picked Turtwig, because I have a thing for Grass Starters, going all the back too Venusaur.

Turtwig. He's super effective against rock Pokemon in the first gym, he's a good Pokemon for the 2nd gym. Grass is usually weak against fire but his last evolution is a grass/grond Pokemon so go for turtwig!

Piplup is the best starter pokemon. Empoleon is powerful against torterra and I think piplup has the best attack.even though turtwig is a powerful Pokemon he becomes ground type and loses his defense against water Pokemon but also his weakness against fire pokemon. So if you wan't a Pokemon that is strong against your rival pick piplup if you can settle for compromise pick turtwig. If you want to keep it simple and get a Pokemon that is good against some but weak against others pick chimchar.but I would suggest piplup he lead me to victory with no struggles whatsoever.i don't think I even ever lost against my rival.
