bucky ran before i entered stark mountain, now i cant find him

Approaching stark mountain, I did see bucky but he left without me. When I enter the mountain, he's not there and after moving the boulders around with strength, I get stuck and can't go any further. I have no idea where bucky could have gone, I even checked the homes in the survival area which I know doesnt make sense since bucky and I havent teamed up yet to tackle stark mountain so he can steal the item that makes heatran appear upon returning it. So again, where did bucky run to so I can find him to team up?

He is deeper in the mountain, to get to where he is you need to go through a door on the far wall from where you entered the mountain, once in there you will team up with Buck untill you reach the chamber with the magma stone where he will take it and leave you there by yourself to find your way out. After your out you go back to the survival area and go into his house. He will then say he is going back to Stark Mountain to puck back the magma stone so as not to disturb the volcano. Oncethis has happened if you go back to the chamber with the magma stone the legendary Pokemon Heatran will be there.
