Migrating Pokemon is basically moving (migrating) your Pokemon from either ruby, sapphire, fire red, leaf green, or emerald games of the Pokemon series to diamond or pearl. It is done in pal park where you then have to look through the park to find the Pokemon you just migrated. Without any of the games mentioned above there isnt much going on in pal park.
Keep in mind that when you migrate, it is not cloning and not trading. The Pokemon from the previous game will be totally gone and present exactly as it was in the new game.
Migrating Pokemon is easy all you have to do is the following:
1) Obtain the national dex. (See Prof. Rowan)
2) Go to Pal Park and and save your game and turn it off then on.
3) On the menu it says migrate Pokemon then choose the Pokemon from your GBA game.
4) Then go to play game and then you can start capture all the Pokemon you migrated from your GBA game. I hoped this helped you alot.

To migrate Pokemon, there's a few steps to take. First, you have to have gotten the National Pokedex from Prof. Rowan. Next, go to the Pal Park, save and turn off the game. Then, on the game main menu, select 'migrate Pokemon from ____ (any GBA Pokemon game inserted into the GBA slot on your DS)'. Select 6 Pokemon you want to migrate. Finally, go back to Diamond, and the Pokemon you've selected will be in the Pal Park for you to catch and recieve on Pokemon Diamond.
Hope I helped,
