Date of Question: Apr 6 2008 | Question ID: 114935 Ok someone told me that the red gyarados at the begining of the game tries to kill you.*(you can spot the red gyarados on the map)(its a little orange circle on the map moving sometimes)I want to know how to make it kill me. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, a red Gyrados is actually known as a shiny Gyrados so the only way you can get one is if you go to an area that has Gyrados and then you just keep looking around until you find one and either die from it or whatever you choose and go on. By the way, whatever that person said is all a lie.
PS: A shiny Pokemon is like a 1 in a million chance, unless you've used an Action Replay. I have a shiny Geodude (I got really lucky!) and a shiny Arceus (Used a friend's Action Replay).

Oh geez...the person that told you that is totally wrong. The orange circle on the map just shows the last 3 areas of the map that you've been. And the only way to get a red Gyarados is trading, hacking, and finding it in the wild.

Well, the dot on the map is where you have previously been. Also I've never seen a red Gyarados in my game, even when I I'm past the part where you get Shaymin.

Ah, well you see, the person that you heard that from...isn't really a reliable source right now. There is no red Gyarados in Pokemon Diamond, or Pokemon Pearl. The only time you can find a red Gyarados is in Pokemon Gold, Pokemon silver, and Pokemon Crystal. So sorry, but no red Gyarados :(
You can find a shiny Gyarados by trading someone who has a shiny Gyarados and is willing to trade with you. Or you could use the Action Replay cheat device, or hope that you catch a shiny Gyarados with your fishing rod.
Also, out of curiosity...why would you want the Gyarados to kill you?

Ehehe. Sorry but your friend is a LIAR! There is no red Gyarados that kills you. Only one one on tv. If your looking for one in the wild, you have to be real lucky. Or use the action replay. (p.s. USE THE ACTION REPLAY!!!)

I don't think the kid is right the orange dots are the last places you have been.If there was a Red Gyrados it wouldn't kill you.

I agree with all the others, a red gyarados is just a shiny gyarados. Plus, you do not want to get killed by it, encountering one without an action replay is a once-in-a-lifetime chance! Simply getting killed by one is is like throwing that amazing luck out the window or down the toilet. Sorry. :A(oO This time I made a sad snowman.

The person who told you was a liar. Red Gyrados is a shiny Pokemon and is real rare. It is 1/8216 of a life time chance. The dots on the map are the last places you hae been. I have a shiny Geodude and a shiny Golbat (no cheats!). DO NOT GET BEAT UP BY A SHINY POKEMON!!!!!!!!
