I'm pretty sure that Dial-Up Internet will connect with the Wi-Fi USB Cable, but I'm not sure because I don't have Wi-Fi.

Friend Codes are basically the identity of that person who has that friend code, which pretty much sums it up. Adding someone's Friend Code to your friend's list (or whatever) will add that person to your friend's list, since it's basically their identity.

Friend codes, or FC's for short, are what other players give you so that you can battle with, or trade with them on WI-FI. Without the Friend Code, it will not show when they are online. No, I do not think that you can use Dial-up to connect with WI-FI, you need to upgrade to cable, or use a wireless modem.
