How many steps does it take to hatch an egg on Pokemon diamond?

Well.... You have to get two Pokemon (different gender) of the same breed (some you can't breed like palkia or dailga) then you go to the day care place (talk to the guy inside and he'll give you a poketek app so you can check on your Pokemon that are in there)and put the two Pokemon in. And in a half-hour, or when your poketek app shows an egg, come back and talk to the guy in front of the day care and he'll give you an egg. Then go travel and in a matter of time, the egg will hatch into a lvl 1 pokemon. TADA! Yur welcom!

It depends check out the pokedex on supercheats it will tell you how many steps for that Pokemon egg to hatch

Some eggs are different, you see? Most eggs you have to walk, run, or ride your bike over 10,000 steps before the egg decides to hatch. Other eggs only take up to 5,000 steps before they hatch, and it will not go below 5,000. So either 5,000 something steps, or 10,000 something steps.

Put the egg in your party along with a Pokemon that has flame body, go to the cyclist road and go up and down. Make sure you have your step counting thing on and check the summary of your egg.
