Eventually, in the game, you will happen upon an item called upgrades, keep those, for they are necessary. You can find a Porygon in the back yard of the Pokemon Mansion after you beat the Elite Four, it will be in there on a certain day, so look for it every day. After you catch a Porygon, give it the Upgrades to hold, and find a friend to trade it to. When your friend receives the Porygon, it should evolve into a Porygon2, now just have him trade it back to you.

You must first get the upgrade. A regular item you can find throughout the game.

Equip it to your Porygon and trade it to someone.

Then just trade it back and viola, you have Porygon 2.

First of all you will need an item called upgrade.Give the upgrade to the Porygon to hold.Then trade it to a freind and it will evolve into Porygon2.

You need to trade Porygon while he's holding the Upgrade. You can find this item along Route 225, I believe.
