First go to patoria and go to the outside of the great marsh and then walk all the way to the right.while you are going to the right you will see a team galactic man standing outside the bushes. Click on him and he will be muttering to himself. Keep on following him and then you will have to battle him. When you finish a girl will come and give you a secret potion. Give it to the syduck and they will move. Follow that route until you get to celestic town. And soon you will have to go back to the 5th gym leader.you can go to sunnyshore once you got diaga.you can get a chimcar and piplup once you got action replay. Hope this helped

After you defeat wake you go to celestic.u go to sunyshore after 7th badge.

After defeating Crasher Wake, you go, and make your way towards Celestic-town to see what awaits there. Piplup, and Chimchar are not going to be able to be gotten by you, unless you have an Action Replay, or have some friends trade them to you.

1)The fith gym leader is in harthrome city next to the contesnt arena.
2)you can go to sunshore city afteryou beat the seventh gym after you kill/catch palkia.
3) to get chimchar and piplup you need to trade with a friend or use actoin replay
4)After you beat the elite four there is a place where you can only get in by having many ribons (i don't have many so I don't know what is in there)

1. Talk to the Galactic grunt in the northeastern corner, facing a building, in Pastoria City. Start chasing him, and along the way you'll battle your rival. Beat him, then continue chasing the grunt until you battle him. Once you beat him, go up and talk to Cynthia. She'll give you the secretpotion to give to the Psyduck along Route 210. Go there and give them the secretpotion, and Cynthia will come up again and ask that you bring the Old Charm to her grandmother in Celestic Town. Go through route 210 and once you reach Celestic Town, battle the grunt in the middle of the town, in front of the cave. [Along the way, you'll talk to an old woman, by the way.] So beat the grunt and the old woman will come up and take the Old Charm from you, and asks that you go in the cave and examine the walls. Do so, and then she'll come up for the final time and give you HM03 Surf.
2. Once you've done the above and obtained HM03 Surf, go to Hearthome City and go near the middle of the city where the Contest Hall is. There should be a woman in front of it. Talk to her, and she'll introduce herself as the gym leader of Hearthome City. If you've already done this, or once you have done this, then go to her gym.
3. You can access Sunnyshore City once you've obtained the first seven badges and battled Dialga on the top of Mt. Coronet, but that's a while away, isn't it?
4. You can trade with a friend to get Chimchar or Piplup.
5. You win some accessories for your Pokemon, and once you've done all of them, your trainer gets upgraded.

There are various advantages and disadvantages to the starters:
Chimchar: has fight moves= beat empoleon(steel), but that wont help until lv 36
Piplup: learns "peck" at low lv, can beat turtwig. It also can learn ice beam. Piplup is a good starter and isn't weak to a lot of things. It has low speed though.
Turtwig: I personally think that it is the worst choice. It can only beat chimchar at lv 36 using earthquake, and curse doesnt work
