I need to evolve wurmple into cascoon but It don't happen wurmple evolves..

I think it's because only a certain gender of wurmple evolves into cascoon, which gender DID you try? If it was a male try female

Ok, it has something to do with personality values... I have not got a lot of idea what that means... I always just assumed it was random, but I found some info... It says if the personality value is 4 or less, then you will get a silcoon, and if it's 5 or greater, then it will be cascoon.

Anyway, just try and catch another... I think it's actually harder to get a silcoon, so you're actually lucky.

It's funny, because you can catch cascoon wild in eterna forest... But only in pearl...

I think it's got something to do with the time of day, I think a wurmple evolve's into silcoon at day time and evolve's into cascoon at night but I might be wrong.

It could just be random, one day it decides to evolve into a Cascoon, the next day, it decides to evolve into a Silcoon. So it might be a random thing, or it might have something to do with gender, because they showed some Pokemon evolve according to their gender, so if you had a female Wurmple, try catching a male Wurmple, and evolve it.

Wurmple can evolve into Cascoon only by chance...it is a random event when a Wurmple evolves and can evolve into either one...just cathc another one and try again.

Well, what Wurmple evolves into is random. I honestly have no idea how the system works, but Wurmple can evolve into either Cascoon or Silcoon. I suppose if you're that desperate for a Cascoon, you can just catch it in the Eterna Forest. The drawback is, however, he'll only know Sharpen, and not Tackle or String Shot.

Just keep trying, but don't try it with the same Wurmple. That Wurmple has it's mind on what it's going to evolve into ;D So catch another Wurmple and try that out.

Ok I'm completely sure about this you have to have a female Wurmple to evolve into Silcoon and a male Wurmple to evolve into Cascoon let me know if this helped or not.

I actually know how to get a cascoon because I had the same problem in the ruby/sapphire saga.you need to put him in the daycare and wait until he raises about 5 to 7 levels then take him out and then you level it up urself 1 level.

It has nothing to do with what gender you get the wurmple when you catch it or to do with what time of day to get it, I got a wurmple that had a impish nature and evolved at level 11 (because I caught it at level 10 and was female) which evolved into a cascoon and then next level evolved into dustox and then I caught another wurmple at level 10 but was male and had a gentle nature and it evolved at level 11 and evolved into a silkoon and then the next level evolved into a beautifly at level 12, I hope this is of some help for you

I got two wurmples from the pokewalker and one became silcoon. The other was also a silcoon even though I changed the clock setting. So its not based on time of day.

Wurmple evolves into cascoon with some natures, the same goes for silcoon. only i don't know whcich nature... hope i helped you.

It's RANDOM!!! It has to do with personality values which you don't know. It could evolve either way and you can't control it or even know ahead of time. just keep trying till u get the one you want. That's all you can do. It has nothing to do with time, gender, or nature...

I just evolved two wurmple. The first one(female) had a Naughty nature and it evolved into silcoon, the other(male)had a Careful nature and it evolved into cascoon. Btw they both evolved in a cave at night(but I doubt that had anything to do with it.)

Actually, if the evolution of Wurmple is based on it's Personality Value and the Personality Value (which is a number) corresponds to a particular Nature, the evolution is not random. The Nature IS random, but not the evolution path followed.
The Personality Value has a set numerical range. If each number within that range corresponds to a particular Nature, then by conclusion the Nature gives you the number needed to determine which evolution you will obtain.
No one seems to have been willing to go through the headache of experimenting with Wurmple -despite much arguing and confusion on the subject- since it is one of the few Pokemon affected in such a way for it's evolution path.
After compiling what information is available from posts such as those above, one of the more enthusastic pokefans out there might think to take the time to catch 2 Wurmple of each Nature -1 male and 1 female- and evolve all of them. If each couple within each Nature evolve into the same secondary stage, then it is confirmed that gender plays no role in the evolution chain, and furthers the theory that the Personality Value, and corresponding Nature, is the direct and sole influence on Wurmple's evolution to either Cascoon or Silcoon. Certainly more evolution experiments would be needed, involving night and day time evolutions, but once you knocked the gender question out, it wouldn't matter what gender you used for more experimentation.

I think it's actually the level over 5 levels it is going to be silcoon but if you capture and not really even care for it turns into cascoon.

I don't know for sure if it has something to do with personality value (but I think it does) what I know is that it has nothing to do with the gender because I have a male Dustox and a male Beautifly. And it has nothing to do with the time of the day either becouse my first two wurmple evolved into a silcoon and my third or fourth evolved into cascoon and I did it all in one afternoon.

It's based on the Wurmple's personality value-- it's a hidden number, which unfortunately I personally don't know how to find. pW = p (personality value) % 25 or something like that. I honestly do not know how to find it,I've been trying for a while now. But it's entirely random unless you have these numbers.

I heard it was something about stats? Like higher speed/ defense at time of evolution... But I don't realy know...

You can catch a cascoon in the eterna forest in platinum.

It is most likely about their nature I think that because I have a female Cascoon with the Impish nature and a male Beautifly with the Modest nature.
