Look, I don't care what people say, shiny Pokemon are still so rare that using the radar just won't make them come any easier...
Your best bet is to just keep on roaming around trying to have as many Pokemon encounters as possible... The chance of seeing a shiny is over 1 ine evrey eight thousand Pokemon encounters... And that's no guarantee... It might be the next Pokemon you see or it might be never... I have only ever caught one. In Gold. It was a Spinarak, and I saw and caught it within one hour of starting the game... It was right near Newbark town (hometown)
But if you're desperate for a shiny, there is a great way... In Pokemon gold... There is a red Gyarados that anyone can catch... It's technically a legitimate shiny... And it's in every game as part of the storyline.
Well, you need to see all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex. Once you've done that, go to Sandgem Town and talk to Rowan in his lab. Oak will come up and give you the National Dex. After he leaves and Rown talks to you, he'll give you the Poke Radar.
An easy way to complete the Sinnoh Dex is by battling all trainers in the game.
