You can win one in the lottery held by the woman at the front desk of the TV station, but the ID number of any of your Pokemon has to match all the six numbers of the lottery... This is very rare, especially if you only have Pokemon caught from your game of diamond. Each time you start a new game on a Pokemon cart, you are assigned with a six digit ID number, which in turn gets attached to all the Pokemon you catch. If you then trade a Pokemon, it keeps your ID number. So the best chance you have is to trade with lots and lots of different people to have the best shot at winning a master ball... But it's still rare.

You can cheat by using an action replay.

I have heard that you can clone them using ditto and breeding them, but:
A)i can't prove it and I have never tried it.
B) you need to have one of the ditto holding a master ball, and since you don't have one, then you can't do this anyway.

The best ball for legendaries are: obviously master balls, but since the ratio of legendaries to masterballs is out of your favour, your best bet is- Lots and Lots of ultra balls! Go into battle with as many as you can afford... (i have run out before, when I had 99) technically any ball can catch any Pokemon, but you'll rarely catch a strong Pokemon legendary or not with a weak ball.
You can also use dusk balls at night or if your legendary happens to be in a cave (usually this is the case)

If you have a roaming Pokemon like mesprit or cresselia, then that's the time to use your master ball. You can catch them with any other ball, but since they flee battle, you will save yourself the hassle...

BUT ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE YOU GO INTO BATTLE with a legendary... I can't stress this enough... I know it's kinda hard to do with the roamers, but for any fixed legendary save beforehand... Because as you asked, once you knock out a legendary, it's gone forever... So iff you stuff up and KO it, you just switch your game off and turn it back on again... Lo and behold, you can battle again!

If you run from battle, it will be the same as a KO... If the legendary KO's you, you KO it, you catch it or you run from it, then that's your encounter... unless you face one of the roaming pokemon like mesprit or cresselia, who will run from you and you will still be able to find them again... but all the other rules still apply. save regularly when it comes to the roamers... if you stuff up there, and youre saving every five or ten minutes, then it won't matter so much if you switch off then on again!

And really, I'd save the master ball for any shiny you might be lucky enough to encounter!

Yes, there are other ways to get the other legendary Pokemon. Another good ball to use would be the ultra balls, they are great for catching any Pokemon. Also try dark balls, which work well on Pokemon in caved areas. No, if you run, he'll be gone for good. If the Pokemon runs, such as Cresselia or Mesprit, then you can find it again.

A good way to catch them, is to lower their health till it's red, then paralyze the Pokemon, or use a move to put them to sleep. Then keep throwing ultra balls at it, and eventually you'll catch it. Save before you battle the Pokemon, so that way if you kill him, you can fight him again by restarting the game.

'cuse once you throue it you can't get more and if you run from a legond Pokemon it will never come back so get a a lote of ultra balls and save infront of the legind Pokemon and you will have a chance to cach him.

The only way to get another master ball is through trade or from another game.Another ball that is good is ultra ball.Yes the Pokemon will go away if you run away.

1.you can get another master ball but you'll have to win first place in the lottery or you can trade from a another game.

2.ultra balls are the best to use on legendary Pokemon (or pokeballs).

3. No the Pokemon will just disappear so be careful. If there a special Pokemon like mespirt or cresselia who will run away from you and you will have to track them down.

1. There are a couple ways to obtain another Master Ball. Besides cheating or trading, however, there is only one way. If you match up all five numbers in the Lottery Ticket Corner in the Jubilife TV Station, then you will receive a Master Ball. However, the chances of matching your ID to all five numbers is very slim.

2. Most of the legendary Pokemon are found in caves, so Dusk Balls work extremely well. For Pokemon like Dialga, Mesprit, and Cresselia (or even Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus), wait until night to battle them, and use Dusk Balls to [try to] catch them.

3. If you run away from any legendary Pokemon battled EXCEPT for Mesprit or Cresselia, then no, the Pokemon will not come back. Mesprit and Cresselia flee from battles, so you running away won't make a difference. However, with every other legendary Pokemon, you only have one chance to catch them. So you should stock up on good items and save your game before you fight them.
