How do you learn Egg Moves...

In the SuperCheats Pokedex (http://pokemon.superchats.com there are Egg moves listed for most Pokemon.

How are those egg moves learnt... For example I would like a Roserade that knew Leaf Storm.

Comment:(Dec 18 2007) Thanks for the very comprehensive answer. Even a newbie to Pokemon can understand that! I just need to go find a Pokemon that is easy to catch (or I may have one) that can learn Leaf Storm ... Luckily we have the Pokedex ... lol Smile

Hey Rich =D This is a simple process that is quite difficult to explain.

Every Pokemon learns certain Egg Moves through breeding. Obviously, genderless Pokemon (exluding Manaphy, HOWEVER including Latias, Latios, Heatran, and Cresselia) cannot breed outside of Ditto. However, any legendary just can't breed at all, unfortunately.

Moving on, you breed a Pokemon by putting a female Pokemon with a compatible male Pokemon in the Day Care.
The result will be an egg containing the same Pokemon as the female Pokemon, being it's mother. The moves that Pokemon will know MIGHT be some moves that the father knew. These moves are known as Egg Moves.

For example, breeding a female Sneasel with a male Buneary who knows Ice Punch. The result will be a Sneasel who knows Ice Punch. "Ice Punch" is Sneasel's "egg move".

In the case you provided, however, you would need a female Roselia with a male Torterra in the Day Care. Torterra would need to know Leaf Storm.

The result should be a Roselia who knows Leaf Storm. Just level up Roselia a bit, and use a Shiny Stone on her... And you'll have yourself a Roserade who knows Leaf Storm.

Roselia can breed with any grass Pokemon, and there are more grass Pokemon who can learn Leaf Storm than just Torterra, so there are obviously other examples that exist.

If you get two Pokemon( two Roserades) threw them in the daycare, and they had an egg, then it might know those moves. That's what it means.
